Brownton voters OK natural gas utility


City of Brownton voters overwhelmingly approved both questions on a special election ballot Tuesday that will allow the city of Brownton to establish a municipal natural gas utility. The first question authorized the city establish the utility, and that vote passed by a 203-5 margin. The second question asked for authorization to issue $1.9 million in general obligation bonds to finance the project, and that question was approved 198-9. There was one undervote, according to city officials.
